Just The Good Stuff
The Modern Library was one of the most important publishing houses of the early 1920s and billed itself as "The Modern Library of World's Best Books." The current Board includes the likes of Maya Angelou, Daniel J. Boorstin, and Gore Vidal. In 1998, The Modern Library published a list of the 100 Best Novels. Below is an excerpt from that list.
